We have some skilled speakers of poetry around this year - reading from their own and others' work. In no particular order listen out for:
Wyn Hobson - on his own or as part of a trio - in the Pauper's Pit on 18/19 July
Philip Holland - at the Old Hall on 7, 15 and 21 July
Cynthia Fuller & Roy Fisher - at the beautifully situated Packhorse Inn, Crowdecote on 18 July
Writers' Reign - students from the University of Derby reading in the Dome on 13 July.
You can hear some big Shakespearean speeches outside the Opera House before some evening Opera performances (10, 12, 16, 17, 19 & 21 July) or hear a variety of prose extracts in the Old Hall (13, 14, 15, 20 and 21 July).
If you'd rather write and read poetry - then there is the democratic poetry Wall - going on througout the Fringe at Nice Venues (the Old Clubhouse).
You should by now have your printed programme to check out the full details - otherwise go the website:
www.buxtonfringe.org.uk
There's not long left now - start making your plans, you won't want to find that you've missed the hottest show in town!
Fringe Haiku (approx)
Poetry and verse
Bursting, breaking speech bubbles
Over wet Buxton
No prizes for better - but surely you can!
